Shopware Parcel Locker Delivery: Checkout and Order Workflow

Shopware Parcel Locker Delivery: Checkout and Order Workflow

A Shopware parcel locker delivery integration with carrier locations, map selection at checkout, validation and complete locker details on the order.

A Shopware parcel locker delivery option can look like a small checkout feature, but it involves far more than adding another shipping method. A customer must choose a real collection point, the checkout must keep that selection when the shipping method changes, and the fulfilment team must receive the same location details with the final order. A good Shopware parcel locker plugin connects those steps instead of treating the map as a visual extra.

Carrier locations must be current before customers see them

Parcel locker networks change, so location data cannot be entered once and forgotten. The SteelCodeParcelLocker plugin imports Hrvatska pošta locker locations through its authenticated service and reads the latest DPD location file through SFTP. The locations are stored in Shopware with their carrier, locker ID, name, address, city, postcode, coordinates and opening hours. A scheduled task refreshes the supported imported networks daily, and the import can also be started from the command line when needed.

A picker linked to the shipping method

When the customer selects the configured HP or DPD shipping method, the checkout opens a location picker with a searchable list and map. Selecting a card centres the map on that location, while a map marker shows its address and details. GLS and BOX NOW shipping methods can use the respective carrier map widgets in the same checkout flow.

No order without a chosen locker

For a parcel-locker delivery method, the order confirmation button remains unavailable until a locker is selected. If the customer changes the shipping method, the stored selection is cleared. This prevents an order from being placed with a parcel-locker delivery option but no usable collection point.

The locker selection must survive checkout and reach fulfilment

After a location is selected, the checkout keeps its ID, title, address, city and postcode in hidden form fields. When Shopware converts the cart into an order, the plugin writes those values into order custom fields. The warehouse or support team can therefore see the exact locker selected by the customer rather than trying to reconstruct it from a shipping method name or an incomplete address.

Why this is a delivery workflow, not only a map integration

A carrier map alone does not solve Shopware parcel locker delivery. The implementation needs the carrier-specific shipping method, a location source that stays current, a clear customer choice, validation before the order is placed and structured data on the order afterwards. These details make the workflow dependable for customers and useful for the team that prepares the shipment.

Parcel locker integration for the Kapitalac webshop

For Kapitalac , SteelCode developed the Shopware plugin work for parcel-locker location imports, carrier-aware checkout selection and persisted order data. It is part of a broader webshop setup that also includes product synchronisation and payment integration, but the parcel locker workflow is designed to be clear on its own: select a real location at checkout and pass that selection directly into the order process.
